It's been a long six years. Since 2019, I moved across the country, went back to school, got two degrees, landed a job as an elementary music teacher, wrote 537 songs, and completely forgot to perform or release any music. Before 2019, performing was my life, and it took the intervening half-decade+ for me to finally miss it. I'm hoping it's like riding a bicycle, but we'll see.
I still play all the instruments. The ukulele and the guitar still play tug-of-war over who has my heart, though the piano might be the dark horse that wins the race. Whatever the song wants, the song gets, even if I can barely play it. Them's the rules.
I have big dreams for Bad Song Club, that I can't say out loud yet or else the wish won't come true. Suffice to say there may be some BSC overlap in this blog so be apprised.
Basically I'm excited to be back, in whatever form that takes, and I intend to spend my time in this space adding interest and value and not just stream-of-consciousness rambling because it's Friday night and my teacher brain is cooked.
